Information on the Scholarship Program Linked to Employment at Small and Medium Enterprises (Hope Ladder)
1. Scholarship name: Hope Ladder
2. Purpose: To support tuition and incentives for university students who wish to get a job at an SME or start a business, and to encourage scholarship recipients to challenge themselves to get a job at an SME or start a business after graduation
3. Eligibility: Students of Korean nationality in their 3rd year or above with a score of 70 or higher out of 100 in the previous semester
4. Support details: Full tuition each semester and an employment/start-up preparation incentive (KRW 2,000,000)
5. Obligations: 1. Completion of 40 hours of basic job (start-up) training while enrolled
2. Mandatory service after graduation (employment at an SME or mid-sized company, or start-up)
* If you are no longer an enrolled student due to expulsion or leave of absence, you will lose your scholarship eligibility and must return the full amount of support received.
* Selection is possible even if the company where the (prospective) employee was working at the time of application is not an SME; however, if the workplace after graduation is not an SME or mid-sized company (with sales under KRW 200 billion), the full amount will be recovered!!!
* The responsibility to prove mandatory employment after graduation at an SME or mid-sized company (with sales under KRW 200 billion), etc. lies entirely with the scholarship recipient.
- Exceptions include leaves of absence recognized under the work processing standards, such as military enlistment, illness/injury, pregnancy/childbirth, natural disasters, etc.
