    연구소 설립 배경 및 목적

    • 국민 소득 수준의 증가와 고령화에 따라 건강 기능 식품에 대한 수요가 증대하고 있으며 향후 관련 시장의 지속적인 성장이 예상된다. 또한, 반려동물 시장 규모 역시 매년 증가가 예상되며 특히, 사료에 사용될 기능성 소재의 개발은 수익 사업 가능성이 기대되는 매우 바람직한 연구 분야이다. 따라서, 본 연구소는 건강기능식품과 반려동물을 포함한 각종 동물 사료에 사용될 기능성 바이오 소재의 발굴과 기작 연구 및 산업화를 위해 설립되었다.
