This is guidance on taking military e-learning courses for the 2nd semester of 2019.

1. Courses offered

2. Course registration / change and cancellation period
– Course registration: Friday, August 9 ~ Tuesday, September 10
– Changes and cancellations: Monday, August 26 ~ Tuesday, September 10

3. How to register for courses
After signing up for the Nara Sarang Portal and charging e-money, you can register for courses.

4. Tuition
70,000 KRW per credit.
All courses offered are 2-credit courses, so the fee is KRW 140,000 per course.
*For soldiers under the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of National Defense is said to support 50% of the tuition, so please check.

5. Course 진행 process
– You can take the course starting Monday, September 16.
– After registering for courses on the Nara Sarang Portal, please access Sahmyook University E-Class and enter the military e-learning course opened as a non-regular course, then register for the course once more.
– You can begin taking lectures after administrator approval.
– Lectures can be taken freely until Friday, December 13, with no limit on the course period. (Attendance score counts for 20%.)
– You must submit assignments twice. You may submit them freely until Friday, December 13. (Each assignment score counts for 20%, for a total of 40%.)
– The exam is conducted online, and you only need to take it once. Likewise, you may take it at a convenient time until Friday, December 13.
– Only one opportunity is given, and if you have taken it once, re-taking is not possible. (However, if the exam ends due to a system error, please contact us and we will arrange for you to take a re-test.)
– The exam counts for 40%.

6. Grades
– Grades are based on absolute evaluation.

7. Credit recognition
To have credits for courses taken through military e-learning recognized, after you return to school, please bring the required documents to the Academic Support Center and apply.

8. Only the following students may take the course.
– In cases where you are currently serving as an active-duty soldier, or are scheduled to enlist before the start of the second semester
– In cases where you are serving alternative service such as as a full-time reservist / riot police / industrial technical personnel, or are scheduled to begin before the start of the second semester
– In cases where you are serving as a social service worker, or are scheduled to serve as a social service worker before the start of the second semester

9. Notes
In the military, schedules are not fixed. Training schedules may be set suddenly, or it may not be easy to take the course for various reasons.
Therefore, lecture attendance, assignment submission, and exams are all set up so that you can take the course freely within the semester without setting specific periods.
If you have time, it is recommended that you complete assignments and lecture attendance in advance.
