Sahmyook University donates 20 million won to help Ukrainian refugees
Delivered to ADRA Korea, an international relief and development organization

Sahmyook University (President Kim Il-mok) and Sahmyook University Church delivered 20 million won in donations to ADRA Korea, an international relief and development organization, to help refugees from the war in Ukraine.

Since the 7th, Sahmyook University and Sahmyook University Church have been conducting a fundraising campaign and special prayer meetings for the restoration of peace to help victims of the war in Ukraine. Faculty and staff of Sahmyook University, as well as members of the university church, participated in the campaign and prayer meetings, raising a total of 20 million won in donations.

ADRA Korea is considered the NGO that uses donations most in line with public-interest projects among 12 domestic civil society organizations currently raising funds to help Ukrainian refugees. This is based on the results of an evaluation of each organization’s three-year financial settlement data, conducted recently by Korea GuideStar, a private public-interest corporation evaluation agency, at the request of a media outlet.

ADRA Korea is carrying out emergency relief activities in cooperation with the ADRA International network. Relief funds raised worldwide are distributed to ADRA offices in neighboring countries—including the ADRA Ukraine Office, as well as ADRA Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, and Romania—and are used for efficient refugee support.

President Kim Il-mok of Sahmyook University said, “I pray that the people of Ukraine suffering from the war will soon regain their peaceful daily lives,” adding, “I hope that the donations delivered with the hearts of all our members will become help and hope.” (End.)
