Sahmyook University was selected as the operating university for the ‘2023 Student Customized Employment Service’ project hosted by the Korean government’s Ministry of Employment and Labor.

This project promotes smooth transitions of young people into the labor market by providing customized employment services from admission to graduation at each stage. It was announced as a national task to innovate the existing corporate incentive-oriented youth employment policy into a service-oriented one.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor selected 12 operating universities in consideration of distribution by region and university type. Sahmyook University and Seoul National University of Science and Technology were selected in the Seoul area. Sahmyook University secured a government subsidy of 360 million won through the selection of this project. These customized employment services are provided to 1,500 students from the lower grades to the graduating class.

First, the ‘Build-up Project’ targeting lower grades provides opportunities to develop career competencies such as job information search, designing desired employment paths, and work experience. The ‘Jump Up Project’ includes job training and work experience tailored to the individual’s employment activity plan, focusing on seniors, and supports post-management for one year.

President Kim Il-mok said, “Sahmyook University is actively utilizing the youth employment policy of the Ministry of Employment and Labor to support young people’s smooth transition into society continuously. Utilizing the stably established University Job Plus Center, we provide employment services tailored to current students, support job search, training, and work experience as a package so that they can preemptively prepare for employment.”

Minister of Employment and Labor Lee Jung-sik said, “Many companies actively utilize university employment support centers for recruitment, and more close cooperation between the government and universities is required to promote youth employment policies successfully. If each university creates various business models with initiative and creativity through pilot projects, we will actively expand based on them.”
