During this winter vacation, Sahmyook University will dispatch overseas volunteer groups of 259 volunteers from 20 teams to 9 countries, including Nepal, Mongolia, Bangladesh, India, and Cambodia. It is the first time in three and a half years since COVID-19 that Sahmyook University is sending overseas volunteers on such a large scale.

On December 5th, Sahmyook University held the “2022 Winter Global Mission Volunteer Launching Ceremony” at John Hall, located in the Hong Myung-ki building.

At the launching ceremony, all volunteers pledged to serve, including students Shin, Jae-Yoon, and Jeong, Chae-young (juniors at the Department of Theology). They read the oath stating, “We will faithfully engage in volunteer activities, properly practice Sahmyook education, and enhance the honor of the school and the nation.”

Following this, President Kim, Il-Mok, and Yoon, Jae-Young, the head of the Social Volunteer Service Group, presented flags and dispatch certificates to each team’s advisors and student representatives.

In his encouraging speech, President Kim said, “The world needs you. I hope that through this service, you will achieve life’s true purpose and meaning.”
