Sahmyook University’s International Education Institute orchestrated a festive celebration named ‘International Scholar Lunar Odyssey’ on the 8th of February, just preceding the Lunar New Year, held at the vibrant arena of the university’s main gymnasium.

This event was meticulously crafted to acquaint foreign scholars with the grandeur of the Korean Lunar New Year, fostering cross-cultural understanding and creating a shared experience of the holiday’s jubilance. Over 70 scholars from various corners of the world, enrolled in language courses, undergraduate, and graduate programs, joyously convened for this occasion.

The scholars immersed themselves in the festivities, donning traditional Korean ‘hanbok’ attire, exchanging New Year’s bows, and engaging in traditional games such as ‘Yutnori,’ ‘Jegichagi,’ spinning tops, and shuttlecock games, creating a lively atmosphere of cultural exchange.

Sahmyook University proudly hosts a melting pot of intellectual minds, boasting 628 students from 28 different nations, including but not limited to the United States, China, Japan, India, Russia, Turkey, Taiwan, Nigeria, and the Philippines, contributing to the institution’s rich tapestry of global diversity.
