[NEWS] SU to hold international academic conference '2023 ICISAA' in August

In celebration of the 117th anniversary of its establishment, Sahmyook University will hold the 2023 International Conference of ISAA and Leaders Forum (ICISAA) for academic exchange with 127 sister universities worldwide from August 8th to 10th.

‘2023 ICISAA’ is the first international academic conference of the International Society for Academic Advancement (ISAA), founded last year by Sahmyook University.

This academic conference will be held in a mixed method of face-to-face and non-face-to-face with the overall theme of ‘Sharing Academic Inspiration with the World.’ About 600 scholars from 40 countries and experts, researchers, and students in various fields will be participating in academic exchanges.

The conference will begin with an opening ceremony on August 8th in Hong Myunggi Hall, located in John Building on campus. On the same day, Dr. Lisa M. Beardsley-Hardy, General Conference of Seventh-day Adventist Director of Education Department, will deliver a keynote address.

Dr. Richard H. Hart, President of Loma Linda University (USA), on the 9th, and Dr. Jea-sung Yoo, Director at Pitangui Medical + Beauty, on the 10th, will take the podium for their respective keynote lectures.

There will also be a Leaders Forum session for presidents and administrators of sister universities worldwide, titled “Revival + Survival in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Survival theme sessions will be led by ‘Korean Minerva School’ TAEJAE University’s Board Member Do-yeon Kim (former president of POSTECH), artificial intelligence platform company AI Factory CO., Ltd., CEO Tae-young Kim and Loma Linda University Professor Sung-hyun Lee, Northern Asia-Pacific Division president Pastor Yo-han Kim will be presenting on the theme of revival.

The academic sessions will be organized into 14 sessions in six categories: Religion and Theology, Humanities & Social Science, Health Care, Science & Technology, Culture & Arts, and Faith & Learning. More than 50 scholars will participate and present on various topics.

△The New Paradigm of Christian Mission in the Post-Corona Era △Intercultural Pragmatics and Communication △Lifestyle Changes for Addiction Recovery △ Convergence Research of Advanced Technology and Artificial Intelligence △Worship Music: Past, Future, and Present will be presented.

In addition, a poster presentation session will be prepared to communicate and exchange not only academic research but also institutions, organizations, and individuals internationally on each special activity and program. During the Next Generation of Academia session, young researchers, including university and high school students, will present various creative research papers and project results.
