Sahmyook University has achieved the fourth-highest dormitory accommodation rate among universities in Seoul, according to the 2024 university information disclosure data released by the Ministry of Education and the Korean Council for University Education.

The report shows that Sahmyook University’s dormitory accommodation rate stands at 23.1%, surpassing the national average of 22.6% and the metropolitan area average of 18.0%. Among Seoul-based universities with over 5,000 students, Sahmyook ranks fourth overall and second among private universities. The accommodation rate reflects the percentage of enrolled students that can be housed in campus dormitories.
Sahmyook University’s four dormitories—Buniel Hall, Salem Hall, Eden Hall, and Zion Hall—can house a total of 1,352 students. Accommodation options range from single to four-person rooms, with semester fees ranging from 537,600 KRW to 2,184,000 KRW, offering an affordable range for students.

The university operates its dormitories not just as residential facilities but as “residential colleges,” integrating learning and community living to foster holistic development. The flagship program, RC Open College (Residential College Open College), facilitates student-led communities across nine categories, including health/sports, performance/exhibitions, mentoring, campaigns, and faith-based activities. Currently, 20 groups with 233 participants are actively engaged in the program.

Sahmyook also empowers its residents through an active self-governance system. The dormitory self-governing body, organized into roles such as management head, education head, dormitory president, and floor representatives, works closely with the administrative support team to address student needs. Regular feedback sessions ensure that students’ voices are heard and incorporated into dormitory operations.
Safety and comfort are key priorities. The dormitories feature a 24-hour security system and daily evening checks to monitor residents’ well-being and provide necessary support.

“We will continue to enhance our unique residential college programs to ensure that students enjoy a safe and enriching campus experience,” said Lee Gyu-il, director of the Residential College at Sahmyook University.
