Sahmyook University is celebrating a remarkable achievement, having secured the highest overseas employment rate among universities in the capital region (Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon) for four consecutive years!

According to the “2024 University Information Disclosure” report released by the Ministry of Education and the Korean Council for University Education, Sahmyook University reported an overseas employment rate of 3.16% for 2023, marking the highest among capital region universities. This continues a proud tradition of excellence since 2020.

The overseas employment rate is calculated by considering the percentage of graduates who are successfully employed abroad, excluding those who continue their education, enlist in the military, or face other barriers to employment.

In raw numbers, Sahmyook University produced 44 overseas employees in 2022 and 37 in 2023, leading the charge in the capital region for two years in a row.

A key player in this success is the “Overseas Employment Training Program (K-Move School),” which is backed by the Korea Workforce Agency. This comprehensive program prepares students for global job markets by offering language training, job-specific education, employment counseling, and support for settling into life abroad.

Since 2018, the university has been recognized as a participating institution in this program for seven consecutive years, successfully placing 161 graduates in U.S. companies.

In an exciting expansion, the university formed a consortium in 2022 with Daijin University, Duksung Women’s University, and Seokyeong University under the “University Alliance Program.” This initiative aims to create a hub for overseas employment in northeastern Seoul, providing structured training and opportunities.

Jeong Seong-jin, head of the University Job Center, shared his vision: “We are dedicated to cultivating talent that meets the needs of global companies and strengthening our network with overseas firms to provide even more students with exciting opportunities for international careers.”
