Sahmyook University students delivered harvested crops and homemade kimchi to the underprivileged in the region during the semester. It is part of the extracurricular program ‘People’s Grocery+’.

‘People’s Grocery’ is an urban agricultural project that grows crops on campus and shares them with neighbors. It selects and operates with about 30 students each semester.

Students are assigned a dedicated vegetable garden at the People’s Grocery Education Center on campus and learn agricultural skills by cultivating cabbage, radish, and lettuce for one semester. Afterward, they harvest it, make kimchi, and do social contribution activities to share it with the underprivileged in the community.

During this semester, students also shared the lettuce they cultivated and harvested with the underprivileged in nearby areas for a month in November. In addition, on November 24th, the ‘Kimjang Festival’ was held at Solomon Square on campus, and 80 heads (150kg) of kimchi cabbage were soaked and delivered to 50 households.

On November 27th, about 50 students, including the Sahmyook University Student Council, professors, staff, and students, shared warm affection by carrying out volunteer activities by sharing coal briquettes.

They delivered 3,000 coal briquettes to 6 households in need. The briquettes were prepared with the amount raised by the student council during the semester.
