[ACADEMICS] Sahmyook University’s Coronavirus Infection Guidelines

If you have visited China or another country within the past 14 days and you have a fever of over 37.5℃, and show respiratory symptoms such as coughing, high fever, shortness of breathing, and sore throat, or if you have been in contact with a person who has been diagnosed with the corona-virus or his or her family members, friends, or coworkers and show a fever over 37.5℃ and have one of the symptoms such as coughing, high fever, shortness of breathing, and sore throat, please follow these instructions:

  1. You must call 1339 and following their guidelines by visiting the designated clinic and hospital.
  2. You must report to the university health clinic by calling 02-3399-3182 for Koreans and 02-3399-3606 for foreigners.
  3. You must wear a mask and visit the designated hospital on foot and DO NOT use the public transportation.

If you have stayed in Hubei Province in China in the past 14 days and had contact with a corona-virus infected person, but do not have any respiratory symptoms, please follow these guidelines:

The Ministry of Education is prohibiting such university faculty and staff members and students from attending the school.

If you have visited other parts of China or another countries and have returned to Korea less than 14 days, you are advised to stay in your house.

If you are diagnosed with corona-virus after ignoring this advice, the university will take actions against those who have ignored the guidelines.

  • If you fall under the above category, please report to the university health clinic by calling 02-3399-3182 for Koreans and 02-3399-3606 for foreigners.
  • If you have a fever or respiratory symptoms during the quarantine period, you must call 1339 and following their guidelines by visiting the designated clinic and hospital.
  • If you do not show any of the corona-virus symptoms such as a fever, cough, shortness of breath, and sore throat after 14 days, then you are allowed to come to the university.


Dormitory Usage Guidelines:

If you visited China or another countries within the last 14 days and have a fever of over 37.5℃ and respiratory symptoms such as a fever, cough, shortness of breath, and sore throat, and/or you had a contact with a person who has been infected with the corona-virus via family members, friends, or coworkers, and have a fever of 37.5℃ or have cough, shortness of breath, and sore throat, you must report your condition by following these guidelines:

  1. You must call 1339 and following their guidelines by visiting the designated clinic or hospital.
  2. You must report to the university health clinic by calling 02-3399-3182 for Koreans and 02-3399-3606 for foreigners.
  3. You must wear a mask and visit the designated hospital on foot and DO NOT use the public transportation.
