A student in the Department of Convergence Science at Samyook University was baptized after realizing the truth while taking a course called <Science in the Bible>, which was opened as part of the ” Biblical Foundation of Faith and Learning (BFFL).”

Tae-yang Choi, who graduated from the Department of Computer Science at Samyook University in February 2018, returned to his alma mater’s graduate school in March last year and entered the master’s and doctoral program in computer science. As an undergraduate, he encountered faith and the Bible while participating in chapels, sabbath school events, and various Christian subjects, but he was not very interested in it at the time, so was not baptized until graduation.

After entering graduate school, “Science in the Bible” became the turning point. “Science in the Bible” is a BFFL curriculum for natural science majors. It is a convergence course involving various majors, and based on the knowledge acquired through each major curriculum, it studies, discusses, and explores various issues surrounding science and religion together.

Choi was in charge of the final class presentation of this course. The theme was “The History of Conflict Between Religion and Science,” which oversaw the entire class. While preparing for his presentation, Choi deeply explored the theory that summarized the relationship between science and religion. Through this, he realized that faith and science were not at odds, but that they could cooperate and move on the unified path of truth. Afterward, determined to take a step further in faith, he studied the Bible with the senior pastor in charge of the youth group of the Sahmyook University, realized the love of Christ, and accepted the Advent faith.
