[NEWS] Professor Tae-eun Lee, appointed as a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Architectural Committee

Professor Tae-eun Lee of the Department of Architecture at Sahmyook University has been appointed as a new architectural committee member of the ‘Seoul Metropolitan Architectural Committee.’ The term of office is for two years, beginning in May.

The open recruitment of architectural committee members was conducted in nine fields, including architectural planning, urban design, architectural structure, and construction. A total of 248 applicants applied, and 29 were finally selected after being reviewed by the committee selection committee. Professor Tae-eun Lee was named as a committee member in architectural planning.

The Seoul Metropolitan Architectural Committee conducts various deliberations on enacting and revising architectural ordinances and issues related to the architecture and landscape of public buildings, promoting innovation in urban and architectural designs in Seoul.

Professor Tae-eun Lee is an architect and poet and a senior academic professor who has lectured on architectural design, theory, and introduction to architecture for 25 years at the Department of Architecture at Sahmyook University.

He has served as a member of the design advisory committee member for the National Theater of Korea, a committee member of the use advisory for the National Library of Korea, a design advisory committee member for Guri City, a member of the Eunpyeong-gu design committee, a member of the Nowon-gu Architecture Committee, and a public architect for Namyangju City. As an expert in the architecture of performance venues, he also consulted for the Seoul Museum of History Ajugae Hall, the Daehangno Arts Theater, and Arko Arts Theater.

He has also served as the Korean Institute of Culture Architecture (KICA) president. He is an active member of the Architectural Institute of Korea, the Korean Association of Architects, and the Association of New Architects. Representative design works include educational facilities such as the Sahmyook University Centennial Memorial Hall, theology hall, the gymnasium, the design hall, and residential facilities such as Yang So-heon, Aeseonjae, Hyoyeonjae, and Sobaekdang.
