Sahmyook University’s College of Nursing proved the excellence of its curriculum by acquiring the ‘5-year accreditation’ of the bachelor’s degree program in nursing in the ‘First Half of 2023 Nursing Education Accreditation Evaluation’ hosted by the Korea Institute of Nursing Education and Evaluation. The certification period is from June 13th, 2024, to June 12th, 2029.

The nursing education certification evaluation is a system to promote the qualitative development of nursing education and systematically support and manage enrolled students’ performance. It is used as an official criterion to determine whether educational performance, curriculum operation, and educational conditions meet the nation’s needs, society, and the nursing profession.

The College of Nursing at Sahmyook University passed the document and on-site evaluations with excellent scores in six areas, △Vision and Operation System △Curriculum △Student △Professor △Facilities and Equipment, and △Educational Performance.

Depending on the evaluation results, it is classified into certification (a year, three years, five years), temporary certificate, and inability to be certified. The 5-year accreditation received by Sahmyook University College of Nursing corresponds to ‘the case where the quality of nursing education is maintained by meeting accreditation standards in all items and areas.’

Dean Bok-ja Oh, said, “Sahmyook University’s College of Nursing has an excellent curriculum, competent teachers, a simulation practice center, and various practice centers, including 20 advanced comprehensive medical institutions. We will continue to do our best to further advance the curriculum to produce competent nurses who serve our neighbors, society, and humanity.”
