[NEWS] Art and Design Students Shine at 'PEACE' Exhibition in Tokyo

Sahmyook University’s Art and Design Department has made a striking impression in Tokyo with its successful exhibition titled “2024 Tokyo Student Art Exhibition – PEACE,” held at the G2 Gallery in Ginza from January 20 to 22.

Under the expert guidance of Professor Seo Jeong-mi, twelve talented students and one teaching assistant showcased a diverse array of artworks centered on the theme of peace. Each piece reflected the students’ unique interpretations, spanning various mediums such as painting and digital design.

The exhibition drew in a wide range of visitors from different nationalities, all of whom were captivated by the students’ passion and creativity. The energy in the gallery was palpable, with many attendees expressing admiration for the artistic flair on display.

Kim Hyun-woong, a participant from the class of 2020, shared his excitement: “It was incredibly fulfilling to see so many visitors engaging with our work. This exhibition was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the concept of peace through art.”

Professor Seo emphasized the broader impact of the exhibition, stating, “This event was more than just showcasing artworks; it served as a meaningful platform to communicate social messages through art and foster international connections. We are committed to delivering innovative and creative expressions through our future projects in the Art and Design Department.”

With this inspiring exhibition, Sahmyook University’s students have not only showcased their artistic talents but have also made a significant statement about the importance of peace in today’s world.
