Introduction of Department

In the Music Department, we educate people to be cultured with high level of personality and knowledge, also to be professional musicians with great academic knowledge, musical ability, and creative expression. There are Orchestral music, Piano, Vocal music, composition, etc. After graduation, students can be musicians. They can choose various courses by discovering their hidden artistic abilities through various opportunity of performance and practical training such as concerts for each major, during regular spring and autumn concerts, opera performances, etc.

  • Vocal Major

    Vocal majors train under professional musician in theory. Human voice is the most beautiful instrument, through vocalization training and various subjects students learn music.

  • Orchestral Major

    Orchestral Vocal majors learn music with the utilization of pipe music, string music, and percussion music. Students acquire musical harmony and balance with ensemble, and improve personal ability by using each instrument of each instrument.

  • Piano Major

    Piano Major train students to be great pianists with musical theory and talent. Moreover, we educate them to be music educators.

  • Composition Major

    Composition Major offer students to acquire recent theory of composition, skills, textual criticism, and assessment of creation. Students study computer music, image music, and Korean classic music in order to arrange the style.

Educational Objectives and Purpose

Music Department develops qualification and ability and train professional musician with a Christian outlook on the world as a specialist leading musical circle of 21st century. Piano Major, Vocal Major, Composition Major, and Orchestral Major systematically educate theory and practice and open many subjects to offer more opportunity for choice of career. Through external activity and community service, students can contribute to social development and national culture.

Vision and Career

Music Department grants 10% of student's second level of teacher qualification for secondary school every year. Many students work as a member, musician, conductor, arranger, melodizer, editor, and acoustician in orchestra and choir. In addition, they work in various kinds of social groups including church, and many graduates have become global musician bringing honor to our school through graduate school and studying abroad. We will do our best to play a pivotal role in the development of musical culture based on the power of our school which has 100 years history.
