Sahmyook University (President Il-mok Kim) was honored as a leading university in the field of future education innovation this year.

Sahmyook University was selected as a leading university in the future education innovation category at the \u201c2020 Korea University Newspaper University Awards\u201d held at the Plaza Hotel in Sogong-ro, Seoul on the afternoon of the 22nd.

While universities nationwide are going through difficult times with the school year and online classes, Sahmyook University, through bold investment in education and digital experiments, have turned the crisis into opportunity for innovative education for the future.

Sahmyook University, which quickly formed a remote class TFT of about 70 students in March last year, has actively responded to problems arising from online classes. The infrastructure for future education was also newly established. The following facilities have been added: 11 Zoom (video conferencing solution) classrooms, 50 fusion classrooms where online and offline classes can be simultaneously taught, 3 self-studios, 1 large studio, and 1 open studio from which high-quality video content can easily be created, and 2 general studios. In addition, Sahmyook University has developed its own 2+1 educational model that combines online and offline teaching and operates remote education workshops for professors to provide live support for online class lectures. The system is equipped with a monitoring system for transferring videos of lectures to ensure quality management of education. Also, Sahmyook University is developing an online education certification system to ensure the continued advancement of its innovative education for the future.

Departmental structure was reorganized to better cultivate creative experts who will lead the 4th industrial revolution. The Department of Intelligent Information Convergence (capacity 100) was established by integrating the Department of Management Information Technology (Humanities and Social Sciences) and the Department of IT Convergence Engineering (Engineering). The department is open for enrollment for the 2021 school year. The plan is to cultivate professionals with humanities and sociological literacy and managerial insights based on engineering expertise centered on artificial intelligence (AI).
