It is a practical study aimed at promoting human health and well-being.<br>\r\n\t\tThe Department of Nursing at Sahmyook University was established on the foundation of holistic education of mind, body, and spirit in 1973 in order to cultivate individuals with Christian faith and creative and practical expertise. It was the first coeducational program in Korea. Master&#8217;s program was established in 1996, and the bachelor&#8217;s degree completion course in nursing was opened in 1997. In 2004, a specialized nurse course was opened in the Department of Clinical Nursing, Graduate School of Clinical Nursing.<br>\r\n\t\tThe Department of Nursing operates a credit exchange program with Loma Linda University in Southern California, USA and Avondale University, Australia.  In addition, students accepted with the highest exam score or excellent grades are selected for a 1-year scholarship program to the US. <br>\r\n\t\tThe scholarship programs inspire students to perform at the highest academic level. These programs aim to cultivate individuals who devote themselves to their studies and go on to contribute to the betterment of  country, society, and the church.<br>\r\n\t\tIn order to cope with the rapidly changing health and medical environment of the 21st century, hands-on education is being conducted in various practice sites. Major training centers include Sahmyook Seoul Hospital, Samsung Seoul Hospital, Asan Medical Center, Sanggye Paik Hospital, Atomic Energy Medicine Academy, National Cancer Center, Konkuk University Hospital, Gangbuk Samsung Hospital, Guri City Public Health Center, Jungnang-gu Public Health Center, Nowon-gu Public Health Center, National Mental Health Center, Seoul. Graduation Requirements\r\n\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"bullet_type01 bullet_cnt\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"text\">Required credits for graduation are 130 credits with 39 general education credits, 74 core credits, 21 elective credits.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"text\">Students must complete courses on National Nursing Examination and meet the graduation standards (classroom and practice hours required by the National Examination Center for Korean medical personnel) specified by the Department of Nursing. However, if the criteria are not met, graduation eligibility is decided by a faculty meeting.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">\u2022<\/span><span class=\"text\">The following must be met in general education and core courses. \r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"bullet_type01 bullet_cnt\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">1)<\/span><span class=\"text\">Required courses by category<br>The following courses are recommended for required courses by category. <br>&#8211; Humanities : Research Methodology\/ &#8211; Character Education : Spiritual Nursing, Selective Clinical Practice<br>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t&#8211; Social Sciences : Critical Thinking, Leadership Development Training \/ \u2219Natural Sciences : General Biology<br>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t&#8211; Culture and Arts : Electives<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">2)<\/span><span class=\"text\">Core Electives<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">3)<\/span><span class=\"text\">If students meet the graduation certification requirements (motivation reinforcement counseling, addiction assessment) in foreign languages, volunteer work, clinical practice, nursing research, graduation exam, and addiction course completion, students can get a graduation certification PASS.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li class=\"bs_not_bullet\">2. Basics (Major Basics) Courses\r\n\t\t\t\t<p class=\"desc-content\">Five courses in anatomy and experimentation, physiology and experimentation, microbiology, pathology, and pharmacology are sequentially offered. It is recommended for students to take the courses sequentially to maximize learning effect.  <\/p>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li class=\"bs_not_bullet\">3. Transfer students\r\n\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"bullet_type01 bullet_cnt\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">1)<\/span><span class=\"text\">In the case of the Department of Nursing, transfer students take basic major courses and required courses during the seasonal semester due to the nature of the courses. However, this does not apply to medical personnel selection.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">2)<\/span><span class=\"text\">Teacher education is not applicable to transfer students.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">3)<\/span><span class=\"text\">Transfer students attend Chapel in the 4th semester.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li class=\"bs_not_bullet\">4. Teaching education\r\n\t\t\t\t<ul class=\"bullet_type01 bullet_cnt\">\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">1)<\/span><span class=\"text\">Number of people selected: 4<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">2)<\/span><span class=\"text\">Selection Criteria: Average GPA and aptitude tests are evaluated for 3 semesters.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">3)<\/span><span class=\"text\">Application period: In March of the Sophomore year, the application form for teacher education must be completed and submitted to the Dean of Academic Affairs via the Head of the Liberal Arts Department and the Department Head.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">4)<\/span><span class=\"text\">Completion credits: 22 teaching credits (including 4 practical training credits), 50 credits or more in major courses<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">5)<\/span><span class=\"text\">Those who wish to complete the teacher education are recommended to take teaching related courses from the second semester of the first year.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t\t<li><span class=\"bullet\">6)<\/span><span class=\"text\">If regular nursing practice is not possible due to teaching practice, nursing practice is completed during the seasonal semester.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\r\n\t\t\t<\/li>\r\n\t\t\t<li class=\"bs_not_bullet\">5.
