Sahmyook University’s 2024 academic year application process has concluded, and it has emerged as the most fiercely competitive admission season in the university’s history. A total of 13,683 applicants contended for a limited 822 available spots, resulting in a remarkable overall acceptance rate of just 6.07%.<\/p>\n

This rate marks a notable decrease compared to the 8.16% acceptance rate of the previous year and the 7.38% rate recorded in 2019. Among the various admission categories, the newly introduced Essay Application Selection (Essay) category proved to be exceptionally competitive, boasting a mere 2.36% acceptance rate as 5,663 applicants vied for 134 available slots.<\/p>\n

Following closely behind were other admission categories, with General Admission (Curriculum) at 4.54%, Practical Skills Excellence Applicant Selection (Practical Skills) at 4.56%, and Comprehensive (Special) at 6.13%. These figures underscore the intense competition among applicants.<\/p>\n

When examining specific departments, the Nursing program under the Essay Application Selection category stood out with the lowest acceptance rate at a strikingly low 0.81%, granting admission to just 8 out of 992 applicants. In the same category, the Physical Therapy program had an acceptance rate of 1.01%, Business Administration stood at 1.95%, and the Computer Science Department accepted 2.23% of applicants.<\/p>\n

The Art and Design program under the Practical Skills Excellence Applicant Selection category also maintained a highly competitive edge, with an acceptance rate of 2.47%, welcoming only 24 students from a pool of 967 applicants.
