Sahmyook University agreed to form a consortium with 18 Adventist universities in 16 countries, including Russia, Spain, Nigeria, South Africa, Ukraine, and Kenya, and promote the establishment of a \u201cMOOC-based shared university.\u201d<\/p>\n

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was held on August 10th at Hong Myeong-ki Hall located at John Building in Sahmyook University, where the International Society for Academic Advancement\u2019s (ISAA) International Conference of ISAA and Leaders Forum (2023 ICISAA) was held.<\/p>\n

According to this agreement, each university, including Sahmyook University, agreed to jointly establish an online platform (LCMS, Learning Contents Management System) and a shared university based on MOOC (online open lectures.<\/p>\n

Each university will produce and install excellent online educational content on the platform. It will also jointly develop and operate various online bachelor\u2019s degree programs and module-based curricula such as interdisciplinary majors, convergence majors, and micro majors through convergence between universities and multidisciplinary.<\/p>\n

Some majors, like the University of Minerva, plan to operate as a field-practice curriculum where students take classes online, stay at universities in each country, and conduct corporate internships, non-profit organizations, and public institution projects.<\/p>\n

Sahmyook University President Il-mok Kim said, \u201cWe will build a \u2018Sahmyook Minerva University\u2019 model using global networks such as 118 universities, 229 hospitals, 9,419 educational institutions, and ADRA, an international relief and development organization operating in 130 countries. We confirmed the possibility through the 2023 ICISAA, an international academic conference led by Sahmyook University. We look forward to international cooperation and participation from universities to foster future creative convergence talents.\u201d<\/p>\n

The universities participating in this agreement include Sahmyook University and 19 other universities, such as \u25b3Adventist University of Africa, Kenya \u25b3Adventist University of Central Africa, Rwanda \u25b3Adventist University of Lukanga, Democratic Republic of the Congo \u25b3 Adventist University of Mozambique, Mozambiqu \u25b3Adventist University of West Africa, Liberia \u25b3Babcock University, Nigeria \u25b3Bugema University, Uganda \u25b3Clifford University, Nigeria \u25b3Helderberg College of Higher Education, Republic of South Africa \u25b3 Kanye Seventh Day Adventist College of Nursing Motswana Botswana, Botswana \u25b3 Maluti Adventist College, Lesotho \u25b3 Mwami College of Nursing and Midwifery, Zambia \u25b3 Rusangu University, Zambia \u25b3 Sagunto Adventist College, Spain \u25b3Solusi University, Zimbabwe \u25b3Ukrainian Institute of Arts and Sciences, Ukraine) \u25b3Valley View University, Ghana \u25b3Zaoksky Adventist University, Russia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
