It is evaluated that they expanded their stride toward the world by embarking on a full-fledged internationalization of education.<\/p>\n<p>The business trip, led by Sahmyook University\u2019s Dean of International Affairs, Director Ji-yeon Shin, participated in the \u201875th NAFSA Annual Conference and Expo\u2019 held from May 30th to June 2ndat the Walter E Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC, USA.<\/p>\n<p>This event is the world\u2019s largest international education expo organized by the National Association of Foreign Student Advisers (NAFSA).<br \/>\nMore than 10,000 participants from leading higher education institutions and experts from over 100 countries participate yearly.<\/p>\n<p>At the expo, Sahmyook University operated a \u2018Study in KOREA\u2019 booth with major domestic universities and discussed international exchanges with 34 universities and institutions from 13 countries around the world, including the United States of America, Canada, Colombia, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, Taiwan, India, and Kazakhstan, and agreed to pursue memorandums of understanding (MOUs).<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, it plans to operate programs such as international summer college, field trips (school and department visits), faculty and staff training, and dispatching and inviting exchange students to universities in North America and Europe. Specialized degree programs, such as double degrees, were also discussed.<\/p>\n<p>Sahmyook University plans to finalize working discussions, such as coordinating details with each university before the fall semester starts next September and signing an MOU.<\/p>\n<p>Sahmyook University also held meetings with existing sister universities to strengthen partnerships. Various measures were discussed to revitalize exchanges, such as expanding the number of exchange students and expanding exchange fields.<\/p>\n<p>Ji-yeon Shin, Director of International Affairs, said, \u201cAt this expo, we were able to secure several substantial new agreements with universities in the Americas and Europe, which are highly sought-after by students. In addition, we will be able to diversify our international exchange programs by attracting students from various countries. We will continue to engage in discussions and exchanges with these universities to strengthen the university\u2019s internationalization capabilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Sahmyook University has signed MOUs with 127 universities worldwide and actively promotes international exchanges such as student exchanges and faculty collaborative research.
