Sahmyook University is jointly operating the \u20182023 Overseas Employment Training Project (K-Move School) University Combined Course\u2019 in collaboration with Daejin University, Duksung Women\u2019s University, and Seokyeong University. Sahmyook University, which established a successful overseas employment model by forming a consortium with Daejin University and Duksung Women\u2019s University last year, plans to include Seokyung University in its project group this year to share its know-how and produce 100 overseas employees annually.<\/p>\n
Sahmyook University signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Daejin University, Duksung Women\u2019s University, and Seokyeong University on the 23rd at the Centenary Memorial Hall\u2019s conference room on campus. About 30 people attended the event, including Sahmyook University\u2019s President Il-mok Kim, Daejin University\u2019s President Young-moon Lim, Duksung Women\u2019s University\u2019s President Kun-hee Kim, Seokyeong University Vice President for Innovation Ja-euk Koo, and Human Resources Development Service of Korea Director Tae-hun Park.<\/p>\n
The overseas employment training project supported by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea is a talent training program tailored to the needs of overseas companies. It is a comprehensive program that supports language and job training, employment counseling and placement, and life information for local settlements after employment. Sahmyook University has been selected as a business operating university for the sixth year from 2018 to this year for this project. It has successfully employed 116 graduates (as of the 23rd) at local companies in the US.<\/p>\n
When Sahmyook University was selected for the \u2018University Union Course\u2019 introduced as a pilot course last year, an alliance project team was formed with participating universities such as Daejin University and Duksung Women\u2019s University. Through this, 70 overseas workers (as of the 23rd) and four domestic workers were produced last year alone. This year, Seokyeong University plans to join as a participating university to share human and material resources and establish an overseas employment base and infrastructure in the northeastern part of Seoul.<\/p>\n
The joint project team of four universities, including Sahmyook University, decided to operate five main courses to get a job in the United States starting in July this year. \u25b3Global e-Biz expert training course (20 people from Sahmyook University) \u25b3Global design expert training course (20 people from Sahmyook University) \u25b3Global business expert training course (20 people from Daejin University) \u25b3Smart trade, logistics & accounting expert training course (25 people from Duksung Women\u2019s University) \u25b3 global business data analysis expert training course (15 students from Seokyeong University) a total of 100 graduates (expected) are selected.<\/p>\n
Through a total of 600 to 640 hours of intensive training courses, including job training, business English (language education), culture, safety, and law education, cultivating practical talents based on local demand. Off-campus, the organization actively utilize networks such as local alum organizations in the United States and organizations specializing in overseas employment to focus on discovering excellent companies and securing and verifying employment and operate a follow-up management system to support local adaptation after employment.<\/p>\n
It also operates a preparatory course for all grades, including first-year students. This program supports early preparation for overseas employment and connects it to the course. Overseas employment information is provided, and basic language skills are strengthened through non-subject programs such as business manners, special lectures on overseas employment, overseas employment briefings, and practical global business English. 505 students (all grades), including 200 from Sahmyook University, 100 from Daejin University, 130 from Deokseong Women\u2019s University, and 75 from Seokyeong University, are eligible.<\/p>\n
President Il-mok Kim of Sahmyook University said, \u201cThe joint university course that started last year opened the way for many students to realize their dreams of overseas employment through cooperation between the three universities. Seokyeong University, who has been with us this year, has allowed us to expand our business and open the future for more students. I hope we will cooperate and do our best to obtain beautiful results.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tae-hoon Park, director of the Overseas Employment Bureau at the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, said, \u201cThe university alliance course is an essential project in that the know-how of the operating university (Sahmyook University), which carried out the project first, spreads to the participating universities (Daejin University, Duksung Women\u2019s University, and Seokyeong University). I hope the four universities will gather their wisdom, grow, and establish themselves as a base model for successful overseas employment.
