Two Sahmyook University(SU) students from China were born again into the redeeming grace of Jesus Christ. The baptismal service at the SU Chinese Church was held on May 14 in the Theology Hall on campus. The event was joined by over 40 attendees, including SU President Kim Il-mok and his wife Kwon Young-soon, Head Chaplain Je Hae-jong, academic advisors professors of the two converts, and several Chinese students, who wholeheartedly celebrated their classmate\u2019s new start.<\/p>\n

The newly baptized students are Yuan Wenxu (a junior, Art and Design major) and Liang Tongyi (a freshman, Physical Therapy major). After studying the Bible every Tuesday for six months with Jeong Seong-cheol, the pastor in charge of the SU Chinese Church, the two came to understand the true meaning of baptism, and upon firm conviction, they delightedly decided to get baptized.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis certainly is the best moment of my life. I would definitely opt for a life of just a few years with the Lord over a life of a million years without Him,\u201d Yuan said at the baptism. Liang said, \u201cI can\u2019t promise that my faith will stand firm at all times down the road, but I know for sure that my confession of faith at this moment is genuine and sincere.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pastor Jeong said, \u201cThese two students will continue studying the Word and grow further in their faith.\u201d He added, \u201cWe look forward to seeing the growth and change they have experienced resonating with more students from China.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
