Sahmyook University held a special worship service at Hong Myung-gi Hall, in John Hall on October 12, in commemoration of its 115th Anniversary. Established in October 1906 in Sunan, Pyeongannam-do, North Korea, with the name Euimyung School, the university moved its campus to the current location (Nowon-gu, Seoul) in 1949.<\/p>\n

Kang Sun-gi, Chairman of Educational Foundation of Sahmyook School said, \u201cOn behalf of the foundation, I express my heartfelt gratitude to all the leaders who devotedly served this university, as well as to the current president and all the faculty for their dedication.\u201d He continued, \u201cI pray that the guiding grace of God will continue to be with the school.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThroughout its history that spans well over a century, our university has provided Sahmyook education to nurture and produce countless professionals who are equipped with the \u201ctruth\u201d that leads the world, \u201clove\u201d that keeps the world warm and livable, and \u201cserving spirit\u201d that serves the world,\u201d SU President Kim Il-mok said in his commemorative address. \u201cAs we approach the other end of the long, dark tunnel of COVID-19 and face the post-COVID 19 era, I earnestly pray that Sahmyook graduates with great intelligence, sound spirituality, and good physical health will serve as the true hope for society,\u201d Kim added.<\/p>\n

In the vision declaration that followed Kim\u2019s speech, Kang Tae-jin, Dean of the Planning Department declared the university\u2019s mid-to-long-term development plan \u201cSU-GLORY 2030.\u201d For realization of the vision, \u201cA university that opens a pleasant future with people-centered creative convergence,\u201d Kang presented 6 development goals and 5 promotion strategies for the following: \u25b3 Reinforcement of people-centered response capabilities in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, \u25b3 Innovation of education for producing future-oriented and creative professionals, and \u25b3 Establishment of foundation for sustainable growth through innovating university management.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
