Official Characters ‘Suya·Suho’ has been made

Sahmyook University’s official characters, Suya and Suho, were born. The characters symbolize first-year students and sophomores, juniors and seniors, and alums, respectively, and are expected to engage in a wide range of activities while enjoying campus life with current students.

The two characters embody Sahmyook University with both Christian faith and expertise on the balanced development of the university’s ideology “spirit, knowledge, and body” and fulfill their mission as volunteers of truth and love.

Suya symbolizes freshmen and sophomores who are honest and practice love and service. It was formed with the motif of the university’s symbol. Suho is a ‘guardian’ angel who brightens the world with a holistic talent with mission, vision, and passion, symbolizing juniors, seniors, and alums. The primary colors of the character, blue and white, are the representative colors of Sahmyook University. It expresses the will of future-oriented and enterprising students of Sahmyook University.

Suya and Suho were developed after a contest that was held in March and was redesigned for the award-winning designs. Professor Jeon Jong-beom of the Department of Art & Design and five enrolled students participated in the redesign.

Sahmyook University has completed the copyright registration of Suya and Suho and is in the process of applying for trademark and design rights. In the future, the university plans to produce goods using characters, hold stories, and design contests to communicate widely with current students and use them for various online and offline promotions.
