400 Boxes Delivered to the Underprivileged in Local Community
60 Students from SU and Urban Farming School Participated

On November 17, Sahmyook University held the “2nd Kimchi Festival,” an event at the Green Education Lab on campus to share kimchi with local residents.

The event was joined by about 60 participants, including SU President Il-mok Kim, SU professors and students, as well as students from the Urban Farming School operated by the university for Seoul citizens.

Participants made about 3 tons of kimchi (400 7kg boxes) by hand and delivered them to the vulnerable in the local community through 19 Community Centers in Nowon-gu, Seoul.

President Il-mok Kim said, “We are a university that produces ‘servants of truth and love.” He continued, “I would like to thank our students and the Urban Farming School students for participating in practicing the spirit of sharing.”

“It was my first time making kimchi, and what an experience!” said Kim Kyung-won, a sophomore in the SU Department of Food and Nutrition. “I hope they enjoy the delicious kimchi and stay warm with our love throughout the winter.”
