Sahmyook University’s Japanese exchange student, Inoue Ami’s baptismal ceremony

Inoue Ami, a 21-year-old Japanese student who came to Sahmyook University as an exchange student, received Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized.

After completing her freshmen year in the Department of Social Welfare at Fukuoka Prefectural University in Japan, Ami came to Sahmyook University as an exchange student in February 2020.

She began attending Sabbath at the invitation of the Asian Missionary Church (AMC), which was organized for missionary work for international students. As she interacted with other international students, she gradually accepted the faith and decided to get baptized. However, her parents were opposed to it. Ami consistently met with her mother through online video calls and introduced Jesus, whom she met. Eventually, her mother also accepted the faith.

This story is widely known on campus and has inspired many people. A lot of students participated in the baptismal ceremony, which was held at the baptismal hall of the university’s theological department, and congratulated Ami. President Kim Il-mok and Director of Academic Affairs, Kim Won-gon, was also present on this special day.
