Sahmyook University is sending 10 of their students to different parts of the world as missionaries. At a time when the world is suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic, 10 students have decided to commit their lives for a year to spread the gospel with the love of Jesus Christ.

The 2021 Missionary Dispatch Ceremony was held in the conference room in the Centennial Memorial Hall on December 18, 2020. Students are called to serve as missionaries for a year. Of those who joined the 1000 Missionary Movement are Dong Hwan Kim (Theology ’18), Hyun Seo Kim (Nursing ’19), Sang Hyun Ma (Theology ’19), So Jin Park (Physical Therapy ’17), and Yun Kyoung Park (Nursing ’19). Two have joined the Public University Camus Ministry known as PCM are Yea In Kim (Counseling ’18) and Si Young Min (Nursing ’19), and those who joined the Golden Angels Music Ministry are Byeong Ju Park (Theology ’15), Se Yeon Park (Theology ’19), and Da Yea Lee (Nursing ’19).

The Head Chaplain Kim Won Gon encouraged them by saying, “All of you have accepted the call of the Lord to serve as missionaries by saying, ‘Here am I, send me’ (Isaiah 6:8), and so remember that God Who has called you will also give you the power that goes with the calling. As this as the basis of your faith, may you have an enriching year of service where you see, hear, and experience God’s miraculous guidance.”

Kim Ye-in, who is going to Taiwan as a PCM missionary, pledged by saying, “I am grateful for the grace of God that enabled me to make a decision to be a missionary. I will pray fervently to convey the message of love of Jesus in humbleness in the mission field with the mission experience that I gained at Sahmyook University.”
