Sahmyook University offered the most scholarship per student in the metropolitan area last year.

According to the “August 2020 University Information Disclosure,” recently released by the Ministry of Education and the Korean Council for University Education, the scholarship per student at Sahmyook University in 2019 was 3,937,121 won. It is the highest among universities (public and private) in the metropolitan area with more than 3,000 students.

It is about 640,000 won higher than the nationwide average of 3.29 million won per student last year, and 880,000 won higher than the average of 3.50 million won at universities in the metropolitan area (53 schools).

Considering that the annual average tuition fee of Sahmyook University last year was 7.73,1931 won, more than half of the tuition is covered by scholarships.

Sahmyook University is steadily expanding its scholarship benefits by acquiring more funds. Funds come from “Alumni Scholarship” and “Millal Scholarship” sponsored by alumni, the “Disciple Love Scholarship” and “Staff Association Scholarship” sponsored by faculty, and the “Dorga Scholarship” raised by members of the University Church. In addition, thanks to the support from various groups, 90 or  more scholarship programs are offered.

In July, the “COVID-19 Scholarship Fund”, established by professors and staff, raised 74.94 million won. A special scholarship of 30,0000 won was given to all the students.
