[NEWS] Ph.D. alumnus, elected as the union president of UGANDA UNION MISSION

Pastor Moses Maka Ndimukika received a doctorate from Sahmyook University and has been elected as the union president in leading the Uganda Adventist Church.

UGANDA UNION MISSION is an Adventist organization affiliated with the East Central African Division (ECD) and has eight local conferences and fields throughout Uganda, Africa. As of June, last year, it is a vast organization with 440,000 members and 1,278 churches.

Pastor Moses Maka, born in Uganda, majored in Theology (BTh) at Spicer Adventist University in India and received an MA in Theology (MA) from Newbold College in England. At the end of February 2012, he entered the Graduate School of Theology at Sahmyook University and obtained a Ph.D. in Biblical Theology in 2015.

Pastor Moses Maka has served the Ugandan church as an ordained minister for the past 27 years and teaches theology to students at Bugema University, an Adventist university in Uganda. He served as president and director of the Kampala Campus of Bujema University, oversaw general affairs as secretary of the Uganda Union, and has been elected as the union president this time.

In an e-mail interview with the Public Relations Team of Sahmyook University, Pastor Moses Maka said, “I feel infinite gratitude and a heavy sense of responsibility while I have been given a noble duty. We plan to train 1,000 pastors in line with the rapidly growing number of baptisms and to build a church headquarters in 2027 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Uganda mission.”

In addition, he conveyed memories of his life on the Sahmyook campus. He expressed his special gratitude to his alma mater, which “made me who I am today,” and said, “I look forward to revisiting my alma mater soon. We also look forward to a close cooperation with Bujema University, a higher education institution affiliated with the Uganda Union.”
