Sahmyook University renewed the MOUs with three universities in Central and South America and its sister universities and decided to continue cooperative relations.

President Il-mok Kim and Special Advisor Jae-wook Yang paid official visits to the sister universities such as the University of Montemorelos in Mexico on April 19 (local time), Peruvian Union University in Peru on the 21st, and UNASP (Adventist University of Sao Paulo) in Brazil on the 25th to discuss the results of exchange and cooperation and renew existing agreements (MOUs).

The agreement includes △the operation of student exchange programs △joint participation in overseas volunteer activities △exchange visits by student representatives and △summer schools in which students from sister schools jointly participate during vacations. In addition, they also agreed to cooperate in areas such as △joint research by professors and △the revitalization of exchange professors.

Sahmyook University and each university are all global network universities of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and have a long-standing cooperative relationship with each other. Sahmyook University plans to accelerate international exchange with Central and South America through this agreement, which was severed due to COVID-19.

In particular, these universities have shown great interest in student exchange programs due to the influence of the Korean Wave, which has recently spread in Central and South America. There are also plans for medical volunteer services in which students from both schools will participate together.

President Il-mok Kim said, “We will continue to support our students so that they can strengthen their global capabilities based on close cooperation with various sister universities.”
