School of Graduate Studies, opened in 1981, fosters highly-skilled professionals, spiritually and intellectually, inwardly and outwardly. Master’s degrees are offered in Theology, Counseling Psychology, Social Welfare, Early Childhood Education, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Environmental Horticulture, Food Life Industry, Public Health, Convergence Science, Addiction Science, Sports Science and Music. Doctoral programs are offered in Theology, Counseling Psychology, Social Welfare, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Horticulture, Public Health and Addiction Science. Social Welfare, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Nursing, Horticulture, Public Health and Addiction Science departments offer both masters and doctoral degrees.

Educational Philosophy

The Graduate School of Sahmyook University nurtures talented individuals who have the noble Christian faith and creative and practical expertise grounded on a holistic development of mind, body, and spirit following the Adventist educational philosophy. Our goal is to contribute to the peaceful life of others, the world, and nature through the spirit of truth, love and service, and ultimately impart the knowledge of everlasting salvation in Jesus Christ to all that come to SU.

Educational Mission

Based on the educational philosophy of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, we will provide a holistic Christian education that will bring about the harmonious development of intelligence, spirituality, and the body. Our aim is to produce professionals who are ready to cope with the fast-changing information age. These graduates, with respect for all life and a spirit of peace, will lead a rewarding life that contributes to the good of the nation and community. The purpose of this program is to nurture competent Christian leaders and professionals who are able to cope with the fast-changing information age in the global village.
