– Educational Purpose
The Department of Public Health has established the vision for wellness, peace, and prosperity in the world through its public health programs, which focus on life, lifestyle, happiness, and Christian peace. The Department of Public Health offers an interdisciplinary M.P.H. program that can proceed to the Ph.D. in Public Health program.
The specific objectives of this program are:
- Train competent public health researchers and educators through research methodology and the pursuit of truth supported by health and social science knowledge.
- Generate high quality research results, by cultivating discipline for self-study and intellectual independence.
- Prepare resilient leaders with the Christian mindset for Public Health service in Korea and the larger international community.
- Train public health professionals by giving cutting-edge knowledge and developing life-long learning abilities for public health specialization.

Careers
According to the 1995 National Health Promotion Act, there were many opportunities for changing lifestyle activities in Korea. Furthermore, since 2010 the Korean government has created opportunities for people who have studied Public Health to receive a nationally endorsed certificate as a Health Education Specialist. Since then, health promotion centers, departments of public health, and health institutes are added to the job opportunities and recruiting more health specialists and professionals.
We expect that this program will contribute to national health promotion activities and related industries as well as have a positive effect on the university’s reputation and competitiveness. It can lead efficiently to the addition of other related programs.

Research field | This research institute aims to study health behavior, programs, and policies to develop health programs and evaluation. The following are specific activities:
① Research the epidemiology of alcohol at domestic and international levels.
② Research alcohol-related projects upon request from the local government or non-government organizations.
③ Develop effective health intervention programs
④ Develop modern health promotion policies at national and international levels
⑤ Hold various health programs- related seminars and publish scholarly literature
